Description
In Shrek the Third, the swamp-dwelling ogre must leave home once more to find the rightful heir to the throne of Far Far Away: Fiona’s rebellious cousin, Arthur. While Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots embark on their quest, Prince Charming seizes the opportunity to storm the kingdom with a band of fairy-tale villains. The game serves as a linear action-adventure that mirrors the film's plot but adds exclusive levels, such as a prison break and a trek through Merlin’s hills.
The gameplay is a "beat 'em up" style experience that makes heavy use of the Wii’s motion controls. To fight off waves of knights, pirates, and evil trees, you waggle the Wii Remote for light attacks and shake the Nunchuk for heavy, shield-breaking strikes. Each of the six playable characters has a unique "Special Move" powered by collected fairy dust: Shrek can slow down time with Ogre Power, Puss stuns enemies with his "sad eyes," and Sleeping Beauty can literally flirt with enemies to make them attack each other. Between combat sections, the game features light platforming and character-specific puzzles, such as Puss’s double-jump or Fiona’s ability to move heavy objects.
