Turok for PlayStation 3 reimagines the classic action franchise as a cinematic first-person shooter set on a hostile alien planet where advanced military forces, dangerous wildlife, and genetically engineered dinosaurs all pose deadly threats. Players assume the role of Joseph Turok, a former black-ops soldier who joins an elite team on a mission to capture a ruthless war criminal whose experiments have transformed the planet into a deadly battlefield.
Survival requires adapting to a wide variety of threats. Players engage enemy soldiers using an arsenal of futuristic firearms, explosives, and stealth tactics while also fending off aggressive dinosaurs that can attack either side during combat. The unpredictable interactions between humans and creatures create dynamic encounters throughout the campaign.
In addition to traditional weapons, Turok's signature combat knife plays a major role, allowing players to silently eliminate enemies through stealth takedowns or engage in brutal close-quarters combat. The game rewards careful positioning and strategic decision-making as much as direct firefights.
