Just Dance 2020 is the eleventh installment in the flagship rhythm game franchise from Ubisoft, released to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary on the Nintendo Switch. This edition features a curated tracklist of 40 new songs, ranging from chart-topping hits like "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish to viral sensations like "Baby Shark." The game utilizes the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers for precise motion tracking, mirroring the player's movements as they follow on-screen professional choreographers.
The title offers a variety of specialized modes to cater to different playstyles and age groups. Kids Mode returns with eight child-friendly tracks and simplified choreography, while Sweat Mode allows players to track calories burned and time spent dancing for a fitness-focused experience. For the 10th anniversary, a new All Stars Mode was introduced, taking players on a journey through ten years of Just Dance history by revisiting iconic songs and themes from previous entries.
Just Dance 2020 is designed for social play, supporting up to six players simultaneously in local co-op mode. On the Nintendo Switch, players also have the option to use the Just Dance Controller App, which transforms a smartphone into a motion-tracking device, allowing for group play without the need for additional Joy-Cons. The physical edition provides access to the Just Dance Unlimited subscription service, which offers a streaming library of over 500 additional songs to further expand the core experience.
