Lost Planet 3 for Xbox 360 is a sci-fi action adventure set on the frozen world of E.D.N. III, where humanity attempts to survive in an unforgiving alien environment. Players follow the story of Jim Peyton, a rig pilot who travels to the planet to work for a corporation seeking valuable thermal energy resources buried beneath the ice.
As Jim explores the harsh landscape, he encounters hostile creatures known as the Akrid along with dangerous weather conditions and hidden mysteries tied to the planet’s past. The story unfolds through exploration, combat encounters, and missions that gradually reveal the secrets of E.D.N. III.
Gameplay shifts between on-foot action and operating a large utility rig used to navigate the frozen terrain and battle enemies.
