In LEGO The Lord of the Rings, you relive the epic journey across Middle-earth to destroy the One Ring. Following the storylines of all three films—The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King—this handheld adventure adapts the grand scale of the trilogy into the classic LEGO format. You’ll navigate iconic locations from the peaceful Shire and the Mines of Moria to the final ascent of Mount Doom.
The gameplay features a "semblance of open world," utilizing large hub zones like Rivendell and Bree that connect 18 main levels (six per film). You can unlock and play as over 80 characters, including members of the Fellowship and deep-lore favorites like Tom Bombadil. Each character possesses unique tools, such as Sam’s Elven rope for climbing or Frodo’s Phial of Galadriel for illuminating dark caves. Notably, this was one of the first LEGO titles to feature original movie dialogue, bringing an added layer of authenticity to the humor-filled LEGO cutscenes.
